WORKFORCE: London Ambulance Service and Lewisham Healthcare Trust have been asked to provide more information on workforce issues by NHS London.

The document said: “LAS has been asked to submit further information on its workforce plan during transition to ensure that patient-care standards will be maintained as it reduces its clinical workforce by 560 over the next five years.”

Lewisham Healthcare was asked to provide more information about its workforce because its “levels of sickness and agency usage appear higher than average for organisations of a similar type and its staff satisfaction scores were low for 2010”.

It added: “Left undealt with [this] may lead to performance issues.”

The report said the trust had subsequently provided the required information.
