WORKFORCE: NHS London has recruited “80 nominated leads across NHS organisations in London to train staff to recognise if colleagues have been recruited to terrorism”.

The move is part of the Home Office’s “Prevent strategy”, part of the government’s counter-terrorism strategy, and NHS London’s involvement was revealed in minutes to the SHA’s quality and clinical governance committee.

The Home Office has said Prevent will “address all forms of terrorism, including the extreme right-wing”.

NHS London’s chief nurse Trish Morris-Thompson said the work “will be integrated into the capital’s adult safeguarding model”.

The meeting was held in May.
