STRUCTURE: Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust chair Anthony Jones has described 2011 as a “tremendous year” for the trust.
In a statement issued before the trust’s annual general meeting, he said: “After many years of hard work and planning we will have finally, just a week before the AGM, opened our great new Tunbridge Wells Hospital, and created new centres of expertise at both our Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital sites. The old Kent and Sussex Hospital site will finally close too.
“Our ambition is to turn this trust into one of the very best hospital trusts in the country,” he said.
Mr Jones added: “We know we have improved massively as a trust in recent years and we also know that we have a way to go before we achieve all our ambitions. We are determined to remain on our path of continual improvement.”
