PERFORMANCE: The foundation trust this month recorded 163 breaches of the Department of Health’s guidelines on mixed sex accommodation.

Latest data for August – based on returns from all 167 acute trusts in England – show the trust breached the guidelines on 163 occasions, compared with 205 in July.

Its breach rate – the number of breaches per 1,000 finished consultant episodes – was 21.2 for August.

By region, the majority of breaches, 346, were in NHS London followed by the NHS South East Coast with 271.

Along with Maidstone and Tunbridge, the worst offenders in the region were Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
