PERFORMANCE: The trust this month recorded 190 breaches of the Department of Health’s guidelines on mixed sex accommodation.

It was the worst offender in the region and the second worst for the whole country.

It had 163 breaches in August. Latest data for September – based on returns from all 167 acute trusts in England – show the trust had a breach rate – the number of breaches per 1,000 finished consultant episodes – of 23.8.

By region, the majority of breaches, 440, were in NHS London followed by the NHS South East Coast with 302.

The second offender in the South East Coast region was Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The worst offender in the country was Barts and The London NHS Trust with 260 breaches.
