PERFORMANCE: Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells’ performance on mixed sex breaches improved dramatically last month, following the opening of its new, all singe room hospital at Pembury.
It recorded 190 breaches of the Department of Health’s guidelines on mixed sex accommodation in September. However, latest data show the trust had only six breaches during October.
Overall it had a breach rate of 0.8 for October, down from 23.8 for the previous month.
By region, the majority of breaches during October were in NHS London, 482, followed by the NHS South East Coast with 335.
The worst offenders in the South East Coast region during October were East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
