PERFORMANCE: The trust recorded no breaches of the Department of Health’s guidelines on mixed sex accommodation last month, the second time it has done so since monthly recording began.

Latest data for July – based on returns from all 167 acute trusts in England – show the trust did not breach the guidelines, demonstrating an improvement since June.

Unlike the majority of other trusts, the picture at Medway has not been a straightforward decline in breaches since the start of monthly recording and the introduction of fines in April.

The trust recorded no breaches in May, before reporting 12 in June. Additionally it returned no data for April.

By region, the majority of breaches, 346, were in NHS London followed by the NHS South East Coast with 271.

The worst offenders in the South East Coast region were Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
