PERFORMANCE: Medway NHS Foundation Trust breached the government’s guidelines on mixed-sex accommodation on eight occasions in March.

NHS England has published date for the total occurrences of unjustified mixing in relation to sleeping accommodation during March.   

It shows Medway FT had eight breaches and a breach rate of 1.1 – the number of breaches per 1,000 finished consultant episodes. This compares to four in February.

The trust was one of only two in the South East Coast region to breach the guidance in March. The other was East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which had 15.

Overall, NHS organisations across England reported 318 breaches of the guidance during March 2013, compared to 301 in February.
