PERFORMANCE: A new website has been launched to support Kent’s five-year strategy for mental health and wellbeing.
The Live It Well site, www.liveitwell.org.uk, brings together practical information to help people stay well, and get the right support if they need it.
People can search by postcode for different services, such as community mental health teams, resource centres, supported housing, and volunteering opportunities.
The website was launched on 10 October, World Mental Health Day.
According to NHS Kent and Medway, the site is “unique” collaboration between a voluntary organisation, local authorities and the primary care trusts.
It is part of the Live It Well strategy, which was launched in October 2010 with input from local people and health and social care professionals. It sets out ten commitments for improving mental health locally, along with priorities for action.
NHS Kent and Medway director of mental health commissioning Lauretta Kavanagh said: “This website not only makes it much easier for people to find local information, it is also a real example of different organisations working together to improve mental health and wellbeing in Kent and Medway - one of the commitments in our strategy.”
The website, which has been developed as a community resource, with funding from local authorities and the NHS, is hosted by Sevenoaks Area Mind.
