FINANCE: Mid Essex PCT’s progress on its QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) plan has slipped, meaning it could miss its year-end target by £2.7m.

The PCTs finance report said there had been “slippage in the implementation of a number of the projects”.

Therefore savings are estimated to be £2.7m short of where they should be for the £18.9m savings target for the year. This forecast is “assuming £3m benefit from recovery of Braintree Community Hospital activity”, it added.

Overall, the PCT is forecasting a surplus for the year of £2m.
