PERFORMANCE: Mid Staffordshire Foundation Trust has halved the average waiting time for patients waiting for treatment after being referred by their GP.
At the end of April 2012 the average wait time for patients from being referred by their GP to being treated was 26.2 weeks.
By the end of August the trust had reduced waiting times to 14.5 weeks and by the end of September the average wait was now 13 weeks.
The trust says it will be achieving the 18 weeks referral to treatment target by December 2012 for all specialities on an individual basis.
The figures nationally are based on 92 per cent of patients because for some patients there are medical reasons why the time taken is longer than 18 weeks and some patients choose to wait longer for personal reasons.
