FINANCE: Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is planning a £26m end of year deficit for 2012-13.
It has a £23.2m cost improvement plan (CIP) programme for the year. A board paper says: “The trust is forecasting a year-end deficit of £26.0m which is in line with the plan agreed with SHA, Trust Board and Finance Committee.
“The period 2 income and expenditure position records a deficit of £4.42m which is an £0.62m improvement on the planned deficit.”
An HSJ Local Briefing on Mid Yorks published in April said it would have to see major service change, and potentially be split into three separate hospitals, taken over by other organisations.
