WORKFORCE: Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust has appointed three non executive directors to replace the four who stood down at the beginning of the month.
The trust announced the appointment of Patricia Garbutt, Trevor Lake and Rosie Valerio this morning.
The mass resignation of the previous non-executive directors came shortly before the trust announced options for a radical reconfiguration of services across the multi-site £442m-turnover trust.
In a statement released at the time the trust said the non-execs “felt unable to remain in office after considering the continuing impact of the poor financial performance of the trust in 2011-12.
“Investigations conducted over the last few months have confirmed that the finances of the trust were considerably worse than had been reported to the board and that the trust is unable to meet the previously agreed plan to achieve foundation trust status by April 2014.”
The non-execs who stood down were Anita Fatchett, David Longstaff, Dr Margaret Faull and Iain Wilkinson.
HSJ revealed earlier this month that the Department of Health had discussed using the failure regime, recently enacted at South London Healthcare Trust, at Mid Yorkshire.
