FINANCE: Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust’s commissioners have agreed to provide £6m to the trust to support restructuring for cost improvement, following £10m already provided.

The trust faces huge financial problems and is planning for an end of year deficit of £26m, after the initial £10m support.

An SHA finance paper says: The SHA and the local PCT Cluster have agreed a set of actions, including provision of up to £6m support to cover restructuring costs, to ensure delivery of the 2012-13 efficiency programme.

“The longer term future of the trust is being reviewed in accordance with the requirements of the foundation trust pipeline assessment and a full report will be brought to the trust board and associated partners in due course.”
