STRUCTURE: The final services moved into the new Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospitals this month, the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust has announced.

The first services opened in the new Pontefract and Pinderfields Hospitals in January last year and from 8 March all services are now open.

The final services to move into the new Pontefract Hospital were the remainder of radiology and the pharmacy and clinical haematology at Pinderfields.

A press statement from the trust said: “In the new hospitals, patients are benefiting from greater privacy and dignity with around half of each general adult ward made up of single rooms and half of bays of four beds, with ensuite facilities.

“The facilities also include brightly lit atriums, spacious waiting areas and treatment rooms, landscaped spaces, new technology to help speed up care and attractive views from bedsides.”
