STRUCTURE: Strategic health authority papers say that “no decision” has been taken about Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust’s “future organisational form”.

The trust - which is in deep financial difficulty - is composed by three hospitals. Separating and having them taken over by other providers in the area has been considered as a potential option, with Mid Yorks Trust dissolved.

The trust is also a candidate for the failure regime, which has been applied to South London Healthcare Trust, as it is missing deadlines in the process to become a foundation trust and appears financially unsustainable.

However an NHS North of England provider development paper says of the trust: “No decision taken on future organisation form.”

It also said that its “financial projections” are to be reviewed by Bob Alexander, the NHS Trust Development Authority’s finance director. The paper also notes that the trust will “progress [its] clinical services strategy”.
