PERFORMANCE: Several Yorkshire hospital trusts have been pulled up by the Department of Health for failing to meet waiting times standards for elective care.
The DH’s The Quarter publication highlighted those with the worse waiting times performace in March. At Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust, 74.1% of elective inpatients began treatment within 18 weeks of referall, against the standard of 90 per cent. The 95th percentile wait was 32.6 weeks - the target is 27.7 weeks.
At Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust the proportion of admitted patients treated within 18 weeks was 78.1% and the 95th percentile wait was 28.1 weeks.
For Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare Trust, 77.3% of admitted patients began treatment within 18 weeks and the 95th percentile was 30.8 weeks.
