PERFORMANCE: Consultant referrals from Fareham and Gosport clinical commissioning group to Solent Trust and Southern Health Foundation Trust more than doubled in 2012-13.

However CCG board papers for May reveal GP referrals to Southern Health went down by 9.9 per cent and referral to Solent Trust also dropped by 50 per cent.

The papers said that overall referrals to providers stayed the same compared to the previous year over the period to February 2012.

The rise in referrals to the two community and mental health providers were offset by falls in “other referrals”.

There was a 4.3 per cent in referrals to Portsmouth Hospitals.
