PERFORMANCE: The Patient Advice and Liasion Service (PALS) for Nottingham and Rushcliffe has received a flurry of complaints about letters sent out to parents about their child’s weight, recent CCG board papers show.

PALS took 28 calls from parents in March about letters sent out as part of the National Child Measurement Programme by the local Child Health Team.

“Calls have been from mainly unhappy and annoyed parents who have received a letter about their child either at age 5 or 11 years old which informs them that they are either a healthy weight, overweight or underweight,” says the Rushcliffe CCG document.
