PERFORMANCE: Nottinghamshire GPs are failing to attend crucial child protection meetings, reveals a report to Rushcliffe CCG.

Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board has said GPs’ attendance at initial multi-agency child protection conferences and the submission of reports to meetings is “poor”, the board papers show.

However, a survey of GPs found a range of reasons why this was the case including the difficulty of escaping important surgery commitments, short notice for meetings and the fact reports were sometimes not acknowledged or recorded.
