WORKFORCE: Caron Morton has resigned as accountable officer of Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
A Shropshire CCG spokesman declined to give a reason for Dr Morton’s departure.
Dr Morton has been on authorised leave since September. Brigid Stacey stepped into the role as acting accountable officer.
Ms Stacey will continue in the interim role until a substantive replacement is found, the CCG said.
The CCG is working with NHS England in relation to a large unplanned deficit. It is forecasting a £10.6m deficit.
Dr Julian Povey, the group’s clinical director of contracting and performance, will be providing clinical leadership in the meantime.
