STRUCTURE: Solihull clinical commissioning group has enlisted King’s Fund senior fellow Nigel Edwards to advise on planned changes to local urgent care services.
The next phase of a local review involves the creation of a “clinical reference task and finish group”.
CCG board papers say: “We have secured Nigel Edwards, senior fellow of the Kings Fund, to facilitate and Dr Charles Ashton to chair.
“It is anticipated that this group will meet three/four times over the next couple of months and representation for this group has been sought from all providers and other relevant stakeholders.”
The group’s remit is to:
- Agree outline case for change
- Agree detailed case for change and the produce options
- Consider clinical, operational, financial and political implications of options and consider any further work required
- Agree process for selecting preferred option Agree preferred option and agree way forward
