WORKFORCE: Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group is urging employees to introduce a buddying system if they work alone.

The buddy must be fully aware of the movements of the lone worker, have contact details including those of the next of kin and have details of the lone worker’s known breaks or rest periods, security management specialist Andy Collins recommend.

The requirements are part of a new policy on lone workers drawn up by the CCG. The policy aims “to protect lone workers from the risk of violence and aggression”.
