I read your recent supplement Sixty Years of the NHS and very much enjoyed it, having started at Central Middlesex Hospital in 1955.
The article "A dramatic evolution" has a number of quotes from a phone interview I did. I read that I am now Anthony Dalton - the Anthony I accept, although I'm usually Tony - but Daltry is my surname and has been all my life!
When I retired in 1993 I believe I was the longest serving senior manager/chief officer in the NHS.
