QUALITY: Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group has moved some residents from Admiral Court Care Home in Hartlepool because their nursing needs were not being met there.
The patients were identified due to their particular nursing needs and lack of mobility.
This follows criticism by Care Quality Commission, which said following an inspection last year that accommodation was unsuitable for some people requiring nursing or personal care, and that record keeping was substandard.
At the time of the inspection the care home was managed by Alliance Care (Woodside), but is now being run by Four Winds Care. The residents were moved after Four Winds Care took over.
CCG chief officer Ali Wilson said: “The CCG continues to work closely with providers and partners in the local authority and CQC to ensure patient safety. We understand this is a very stressful time for residents and their families. Patient safety and quality of care is at the heart of everything we do and we must ensure residents of care homes consistently receive the highest possible level of care and that all decisions are made in the best interests of patients.”
