FINANCE: North East London Foundation Trust’s detox unit has been given one week to break even.
The mental health organisation has said that if the unit does not break even this month then it will be closed down in its current form.
The trust’s three-year strategy document, submitted to Monitor, said it would work with PCTs to make sure it got funding or “identify alternative uses of facility in timely way to manage cost over-runs” to deal with the service going over budget.
Another commitment in its strategy document was to never make more than 5 per cent of its CIPs savings non-recurrently.
