WORKFORCE: North East Ambulance Service Trust is planning to press managers more firmly on providing safeguarding training to staff this year, after missing its target in 2010-11.
A performance board paper says: “The completion of [safeguarding] training continues to be below target at 78.4%, however the target has been profiled equally throughout the year which is not actually reflective of how the training is delivered.” The target was 92%.
The paper continues: “A training plan is being more accurately profiled for 2011/12 and there are measures to be put in place to ensure managers are held accountable for their staff attending the training.”
