PERFORMANCE: Seven PCT areas in the North East have recorded more C difficile infections than their target maximum at July.

The SHA’s latest performance report says: “The SHA recorded a total of 83 cases against a trajectory of 81 for July.

“Seven PCOs, Northumberland, Sunderland and Darlington, and all [PCTs] in the Tees cluster [Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland], are ahead of their year to date trajectory.”

It adds: “Year to date the SHA recorded a total of 357 cases against a cummulative trajectory of 336.”
