WORKFORCE: High sickness levels at North Somerset Community Partnership are causing concern for commissioners who fear it could be due to understaffing.

The overall sickness level across the social enterprise’s seven community teams is 5.5 per cent with one team reaching 14.5 per cent in November.

A report to the North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group described this as a “key concern”.

It said: “Commissioners are concerned that the number of staff on the ground is less than the number commissioned and are currently looking into this in more detail as they feel this may be a contributory factor to such consistently high sickness rates.”
