COMMERCIAL: The board of NHS North Somerset has approved funding for six services commissioned jointly with North Somerset Council.
The primary care trust plans to replace existing separate joint commissioning contracts with an overall agreement. It covers £5.1m in a Continuing Healthcare brokerage service for care home provision, £4.5m in funded nursing care, and £900,000 for a jointly funded integrated community equipment service.
It also covers £387,000 for children’s respite services, £2.5m social care funding, which aims to reduce readmissions within 91 days and includes funding fro the PCT’s community wards initiative, and £570,000 re-ablement funding.
Board papers state: “It is proposed that all of these services will form schedules to a new Agreement between NHS North Somerset and North Somerset Council which is a Section 256 Agreement.”
