WORKFORCE: North Yorkshire and York PCT director of primary care has joined the NHS Commissioning Board as national head of primary care commissioning.
Dr David Geddes joined the PCT when it was formed in 2006. A board paper says: “He has played a key role in leading those services and in developing constructive relations with GPs. He has been the clinical voice of the PCT whenever there has been media coverage of our funding decisions and he has been a tower of strength in that role.
“David has now been appointed as National Head of Primary Care Commissioning within the Operations Directorate of the NCB. His role will involve leading the development of the national commissioning framework and we are delighted with such recognition of his considerable skills and experience. He goes with our best wishes and grateful thanks for his many contributions.”
