FINANCE: North Yorkshire and York PCT is looking at implementing a standard price tariff for its continuing care providers, working with consultancy Tribal.
A board paper on continuing care states: “During 2010-11 a significant amount of work has been undertaken to establish the growth and trends relating to NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC) to more effectively manage the costs of the individual packages of care which arise from each new case.
It adds: “Since November 2010 NHS North Yorkshire and York have been working with Tribal reviewing current NHS Continuing Healthcare spend and activity across North Yorkshire and York.
“This work has concentrated on a number of areas with the key element being Market Management and Development. The aim of this is to develop a consistent and fair tariff system for the Care Homes sector across North Yorkshire and York.”
The PCT is finalising an “accredited providers list” to support the tariff.
