COMMERCIAL: Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is to launch an out of hours health visitors advice line, following a successful pilot of the scheme.

Parents of children aged five and below can ring health visitors with questions about their child’s health or minor illness.

The mental health and community services provider was awarded funding from NHS England to provide the advice service for a three month pilot.

The service, which aims to help alleviate winter pressures and reduce accident and emergency attendance, will be up and running from April.

The service is available between 5pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
