PERFORMANCE: The foundation trust is at “very high risk” of failing to meet it C difficile and A&E waiting times targets, board papers warn.

The trust’s C difficile target of no more than 23 cases in the first quarter of the year has already been missed with 36 cases recorded between April and June. The latest performance report warns that the hospitals target of no more than 90 cases for the year is likely to be unsustainable.

In A&E the trust has also warned of the potential for breaching the new quality standard where patients are assessed by a senior doctor within 15 minutes of their arrival in an ambulance.
