WORKFORCE: A community nurse in Northumberland and North Tyneside has been given the Queen’s Nurse title after being nominated by a patient.

Jenny Rasmussen, respiratory nurse specialist, was recognised by the Queen’s Nursing Institute. Sixty-two Queen’s nurses were created nationally at the end of 2012. The Queen’s Nurse title celebrates the achievements of nurses who are delivering patient-centred care and making a real impact on improving care in peoples’ homes and communities.

Ms Rasmussen is part of the trust’s long-term oxygen team based in Alnwick, where she provides advice and support to patients requiring oxygen in their own homes.
