Workforce: NHS Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County have appointed Derek Bray to be their chief executive.
Mr Bray will be the senior responsible officer for both PCT organisations, which clustered earlier this year.
His career has seen him run four major NHS organisations, including the seventh largest PCT in England, NHS Derbyshire. He has considerable experience of major change programmes as well as improving performance and quality.
He commented: “I’m looking forward to working with the clinical commissioning groups and the excellent team at NHS Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County to help deliver the challenging financial targets and still maintain our commitment to high quality services.”
Mr Bray takes over from Andrew Kenworthy, who left in September to take on a role for NHS South East London.
Deborah Jaines, chief operating officer for Mansfield and Ashfield NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, is the interim appointment.
Mr Bray is expected to take up his new role within the next three months.
