COMMERCIAL: The opening up of podiatry and psychological therapies to any qualified provider presents threats and opportunities, Nottinghamshire Healthcare’s board heard.
The trust currently provides these services over a wide area, extending beyond Nottinghamshire, and has started to assess what AQP could mean. In some of the areas it provides psychological therapies for, the move to AQP could happen later this year.
“The main financial risk to the trust in podiatry is loss of market share in Nottinghamshire to new market entrants,” the report warns.
It adds that it needs to look at how it can reduce costs if it loses market share in the area. It also says there is considerable uncertainty around payment and contracting metholodogy.
