Nottinghamshire Healthcare has appointed Dr John Brewin as its new chief executive after the retirement of Ruth Hawkins in September.

Dr Brewin is currently chief executive of Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust and has been a consultant psychiatrist for 23 years. He has been CEO at LPFT for four years after serving as medical director for three years.

He has previously worked at Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust and trained in the county.

Dr Brewin said: “I’m delighted to be moving back to Nottinghamshire Healthcare as CEO. I have had a really rewarding time in Lincolnshire and have enjoyed working with and leading a marvellous staff team, where we have seen real improvements in the services we provide to our service users and carers.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of leading a much larger trust, with all of the complexities that entails. I have fond memories of my time in Nottingham and look forward to taking up post in due course.”

He is likely to start in the new role early next year.
