I am slightly amused that the '75 per cent.NHS workers do unpaid overtime' article is in the 'news' section. I qualified in 1983 and it has certainly been the norm for me for the last 24 years.
It is obviously still news to the government and NHS Employers who patently don't believe that doctors or any other staff work for more hours than they are paid for.
As for Alan Maynard's recent suggestion of negative 'incentives' for medical pay, may I suggest that managers are also included in his 'fines' for missed targets, or, here's a radical suggestion, what about a positive incentive scheme for NHS organisations and staff - that would be news!
