STRUCTURE: Oxford and Buckinghamshire Mental Health Foundation Trust has changed its name.
Following the integration of Community Health Oxfordshire, which is transferring from NHS Oxfordshire under the transforming community services programme, the trust will now be known as Oxford Health Foundation Trust.
Oxford Health will continue to provide specialist mental health services across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath and North East Somerset. The trust will now also provide the community physical health services that were previously the responsibility of NHS Oxfordshire.
Julie Waldron, chief executive of Oxford Health, said: “We are really pleased to be able to provide a wider range of services. Currently patients receive care from a number of different NHS organisations and this can mean multiple assessments and many different teams and individuals involved with one patient.
“The integration will provide opportunities to avoid this happening. We will be working towards enabling patients with both physical and mental healthcare needs to have all their care needs assessed and coordinated to simplify services for them.”
