STRUCTURE: All admissions to a mental health unit in Grantham have been stopped on patient safety grounds by Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust.
The FT announced in April that the Sycamore Assessment Unit would close because it no longer met basic standards.
The closure affected 41 staff who were offered other positions within the trust.
Bosses at the trust said the unit, originally an old children’s home, had small rooms and a complex layout which made monitoring patients difficult.
A report to the trust board on 31 May said all admissions had now ceased.
Two beds provided to the Ministry of Defence at the Sycamore Assessment Unit have been transferred to a second unit, Ashley House.
The future configuration of in-patient services in the county, will be subject to a public consultation led by NHS Lincolnshire.
