FINANCE: The foundation trust nearly doubled its turnover in 2011-12 through the Transforming Community Services programme of transferring commissioners’ provider arms, its annual report shows.

Pennine Care recorded income for the year totalling £242m, up from £138.2m in 2010-11.

The report states that: “Following the integration of community services from Bury, Oldham and Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, both the income and expenditure for the Trust has almost doubled during the year.”

However, the trust’s retained surplus for 2011-12 fell to £0.8m in 2011-12, down from £6.4m the previous year.
