STRUCTURE: Community health services in Trafford have transferred to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The move comes following a full procurement exercise led by NHS Trafford to find a permanent NHS provider for the borough’s community health services.

Trafford’s community services have been hosted by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust since April 2011 as an interim measure.

Frontline healthcare staff working in adult services and children and young people’s services, have now transferred to Pennine Care.

Services will continue to be provided as normal and the staff providing the care will remain the same. The main difference initially will be that patients will start to receive letters and information from Pennine Care.

John Schofield, Chairman of Pennine Care said: “Pennine Care has a strong track record of delivering safe, high quality services and the transfer of Trafford community services will compliment and strengthen our existing offer. We share the same priorities as Trafford including delivering care that is local and closer to home, focussed on integration and building effective partnerships.”
