Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Foundation Trust has named Sheena Cumiskey as its new chief executive.

Ms Cumiskey, who is currently chief executive of Trafford Primary Care Trust, will take up her new post early next year.

She said: “It is clear to me that CWP is determined to be at the forefront of developing high quality and innovative services.

“I am particularly looking forward to continuing to drive this vision as well as getting to know service users and carers, staff, governors and the many other stakeholders that form the partnership approach that is so essential to providing high quality services.

“I look forward to working with such a dedicated team to further improve the quality of mental health, learning disability and drug and alcohol services.”

CWP chairman David Eva said: “The quality of candidates applying for the post was exceptionally strong, and the board and the council of governors are very pleased to have appointed such an experienced professional as Sheena Cumiskey.”

Dr Ian Davidson will continue to act as interim chief executive until Ms Cumiskey takes over the role.
