The chief executive of a foundation trust has left to take up a senior post with his local strategic health authority.

Jeffrey Worrall, chief executive of Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust, is to become chief executive lead for quality, innovation, productivity and prevention at NHS East Midlands.

Mr Worrall worked at the foundation trust for eight years, and in a statement, the trust said Mr Worrall had “successfully led the trust through a period of significant change, quality improvement, and terrific service transformation”.

Trust chair Tracy Doucet said: “On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Jeffrey for his hard work, personal commitment, achievements and for his successful leadership of the trust over the past eight years.”

Trust’s director of nursing Carolyn White has been installed as acting chief executive from 30 November.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust runs the King’s Mill Hospital in Mansfield and Newark Hospital.

Reconfiguration proposals for health services in Newark, which include the proposed closure of Newark Hospital’s A&E department, have just been announced by Nottinghamshire County PCT.
