Two positions on the board of Newcastle primary care trust have been filled with re-appointed non-executive directors.

Pamela Denham has returned as non-executive director and Michael Burke as non-executive and audit chair. Both will help to ensure the PCT meets its legal duties to improve the health of local people and deliver healthcare services.

Gina Tiller, chair of Newcastle PCT, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Michael and Pamela in their return to the board of Newcastle PCT. They bring with them a wealth of experience and will play an important part in the development of the PCT and ensuring we continue to provide the best possible healthcare services to the people of Newcastle.”

Ms Denham has been a member of the Newcastle PCT board since it began in 2001.

Mr Burke joined the board in 2003 with a varied career in finance, audit and risk management in local government, universities and the NHS.

Mr Burke will be paid £13,136 per annum and Ms Denham will receive £7,882 for working two and a half days a month serving the PCT for the next four years.
