South Central strategic health authority has appointed Andrea Young as its new chief executive. She will replace current chief executive Jim Easton on 1 October.
She is currently chief executive of NHS Oxfordshire – a post she has held since October 2006. She was previously chief executive of Oxford City primary care trust.
Ms Young said: “I look forward to building on the strong platform already in place in NHS South Central to deliver high quality, innovative and efficient services across our 4.2 million population.”
Mr Easton is moving to the Department of Health in a new role as national director for improvement and efficiency. He will be in charge of the government’s quality, innovation, productivity and prevention (QIPP) agenda.
