University Hospitals of Leicester Trust has appointed Andrew Seddon as its new finance director.
Mr Seddon is currently director of finance and information at Kingston Hospital Trust.
Commenting on the appointment, University Hospitals of Leicester Trust chief executive Malcolm Lowe-Lauri said: “Andrew is a five star appointment. During his time at Kingston, the trust consistently achieved all financial targets and created surpluses for reinvestment.
“His experience on both the provider and commissioner side of healthcare will help us as we face the challenges of an increasingly difficult economic environment which will inevitably mean that the NHS will have to learn to do more work, of better quality, with less money.”
Before joining the NHS in 2002, Mr Seddon held chief financial officer roles in the technology, building materials and financial services sectors. Andrew is a chartered accountant and trained with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London.
He said: “I am delighted to be coming to Leicester. The trust is one of the biggest and best in the country and I am looking forward to working with all the clinicians and staff and with our partners in the Leicester health economy.”
Mr Seddon takes up his post in February.
