WORKFORCE: Cash-strapped Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Foundation Trust is looking for a new finance director, the trust has announced.

Incumbant FD Chris Preston will be leaving in the new year to relocate to Australia.

The trust said it was sad to see Mr Preston go and wanted to appoint a new director in good time to allow for a detailed handover before his planned departure in February 2013.

Interim chief executive Peter Reading said: “When Chris joined us in June 2011, he made clear his longer term plans to relocate to Australia with his wife and children to be closer to their family.

“While this is a great move for Chris and his young family, we will be very sad to see him go.

“Chris joined the Trust at what was an extremely challenging time, financially.

“The commitment he has shown in tackling our financial issues and developing our recovery plans, along with the rest of the executive team, has been second to none.”

The reported in May it expects to make a loss of £54.3m in 2012-13.
