FINANCE: NHS Peterborough was £200,000 in surplus at the end of February and was forecasting a £300,000 year end surplus.

But a report to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough PCT cluster board revealed that this would only be achieved due to resolution of outstanding issues with the main provider, giving a contract value for the year of £85m, and identifying further savings as well as using all contingency funds.

“Key risks to the financial position continue to be over-performance on acute contracts,” chief executive Dr Sushil Jathanna said in his report.
